I need help choosing a center channel speaker to match an existing Sherwood system.

My boss bought a used house with a home theater system pre installed.

The center channel speaker is missing probably due to the tv filling up the tv cabinet leaving no room for the speaker. The center speaker is on the original invoice as a CSi30, but it is nowhere to be found

The Rx is a Sherwood R963

Front speakers are RTi38

Space is no longer an issue with the new lcd tv, he has about 10"x32" of room for the center speaker now.

What are your suggestions for an inexpensive off the shelf speaker that will match up decent? Hes not picky at all.

This guy is tight or I would just try to find a CSi30.

The original invoice from 2002 listed this speaker at 199.95

Sounds high to me, but i'm no expert.

Thanks,

BP

So how much is he willing to spend?

Another Csi speaker would be best. Either the CSiA4, CsiA6, CSi3 or CSi5.

There's a used CsiA4 on Amazon for $159, comes with 4+ years warranty. Normail $279.

$199 is not expensive for a good center channel speaker like the Csi30. The CsiA6 goes for $450.

Thanks for the replies...

He finally bought the polk CS-1 from Newegg as suggested.

We hooked it up but nothing comes out??

The receiver seems to have the center channel turned off and we cannot find instructions on how to enable it.

Anyone here familiar with the Sherwood R963 ?

I went thru the test tones but it skips the center channel if that helps.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, if so let me know where to post it.

Thanks!
