Hi all

Running Win98SE, DirectX8.1, Radeon 8500(tried all drivers under the sun) and ATI DVD 7.6(or any other DXVA version for that matter) with ZP. When playing video based material I always get combing everywhere. And it's a strange kind of combing, seem to be bad on slow moving objects/pan. Film based material is just fine, with low cpu usage (about 25% on a Tbird 800). Everytime I want to watch a video based DVD I have to turn DXVA off on the registry. No big deal, I made .reg files that I activate with the remote control. Problem is when going to software mode I get some pixelation on blues/reds, some 'pulsation' on pans on some dvd's and the image doesn't appear to be so 'fluid'.

Now the questions. Is DXVA a 'feature' that only works correctly on WinXP? Will I see a night/day difference if I finally upgrade to XP? Will I get good deinterlacing on XP with DXVA enabled?

Thanks,

idealcrash
