Hello,

I live in Queens about 8 miles from ESB.

I am looking for a OTA attenea .

These are my stats from antennaweb.org.

* red - uhf WPXN-DT 30 PAX NEW YORK 8.9 30

* red - uhf WNYE-DT 24 PBS NEW YORK 7.3 24

* red - uhf WNYW-DT 5.1 FOX New York 7.6 44

* red - vhf WPIX-DT 11.1 WB NEW YORK 7.6 12

* red - uhf WXTV-DT 41.1 UNI PATERSON 7.6 40

* red - uhf WNJU-DT 36 TEL LINDEN NJ FCC 8.9 36

* red - uhf WRNN-DT 48.1 IND KINGSTON NY 53.3 48

* red - uhf WNBC-DT 4.1 NBC New York NY 7.6 28

* red - uhf WCBS-DT 2.1 CBS New York NY 7.6 56

* red - uhf WABC-DT 7.1 ABC New York NY 7.8 45

* blue - uhf WFUT-DT 68.1 TFA NEWARK NJ 7.8 53

* blue - uhf WLIW-DT 22.1 PBS Garden City NY 21.1 22

* violet - uhf WNET-DT 13.1 PBS Newark NJ 8.4 61

I am looking to stay in the red range.

I was looking at the Channel Master 3016 or 3018.

Would the 3018 be overkill or would it help stop drop outs?

Would a UHF only anttenea be better?

I do have bulidings and an airport in the area but not in the direct line of sight.

Thanks

You have one channel in VHF.

The 3021 or 4228 by Channel Master should pick up VHF 12.

So you could get a UHF only.

The 3016 or 3018 will not get the violet without a pre-amp - but it is PBS in NJ anyways!
The CM4228 that i have pics up vhf 12 perfectly at 35 miles without dropouts ever.
