Need help in buying the right digital receiver to use with my home theater setup. Own the following: HD reveiver (Zenith HD520), 50" DLP HDTV (Samsung), and progressive scan DVD player (Panasonic DVD RP91). Plan to buy a DVR soon and also have a good VCR that I'd like to keep in the system.

I plan to make the digital receiver the heart of my system and believe I need at least 2 component inputs for the receiver (from HD Receiver and DVR) and 1 component output (to the HDTV).

(1) Is this a correct assumption?

Need to buy the digital receiver. Have looked at the Panasonic SA-HE100, Pioneer VSX-D912K, and two from Onkyo, TX-SR501 abd TX-SR601. All are in the same price range ($300) but the Onkyo 601 which is almost $200 more.

(2) Will one of these be sufficient to serve as the heart of my system and which one is recommended?

I'm new to home entertainment systems, but not new to audio and video component issues. The complexity of setting everything up is a bit confusing.

Thanks!
