Ok so i need some help with my setup, its purely audio related. Ok so heres my problem, I have a DVD player, Xbox 360, and PS3 all that are being connected to a receiver via optical cables. My issue comes into play here as my receiver only has two optical inputs and I found a optical switch thats 3x1 but i need a optical out for a set up headphones for gaming and what not. It takes the optical cable as a source, but since i have no output with the receiver i was wondering if I could have all 3 devices connected to the switch and then split the out put optical cable and have 1 go to the receiver and one go to the headphones. I understand that both couldn't be operated at the same time with the splitter, but would i lose quality splitting the cable from a switch like that? Thanks for reading and helping out.
