Hello. I have always loved watching movies. And im barely trying to update my system. My question is. I have the pioneer elite vsx 101 as my reciever. 80 watts per channel . just purchased 2 definitive tech bp 9040 as my fronts. I have a def tech 1000 as my center. And polk audio in wall as my surround. I came across a emotiva xpa 5 power amplifier. Is it worth it to add it to my reciever. Go from 80 watts to 200 watts per channel. I know i have a entry level reciever. But feel that the sound is not loud enough. And i just moved to a new house and my living room is 26' x26'. With a vaulted ceeling.

Yup, as Wayne said, can't connect an amp to that AVR.

My question is; what do you mean by "the sound is not loud enough"? Are you actually maxing out the master volume control? Are you hearing distortion (bad noises) when you do turn it up loud?

sorry my mistake I replaced my elite receiver and thought this one had pre outs like my old one. now another question. when I purchased my emotiva xpa5 gen2 the guy gave me the emotive umc 200 because it wasn't turning on. I am in the process of fixing it. is that a good setup. the emotive umc 200 preamp and the emotive xpa 5 gen 2 amp. I was debating keeping it or selling it and getting a better receiver. either pioneer or marantz
