[DTV Plus Guy]

I just Purchased a SHARP Home Theatre In a Box system Model # HT-DD5000 and I have a RCA DRD480RE Satellite receiver with Dolby Digiatl Capabilities, with the Optical Output Jack. I plug in the optical cable into the sat receiver then plug it into the Sharp Receiver and it will not recognize the optical feed.(This is all tested with the Satellite Receiver on channel 800 the Dolby Digital 5.1 Demo channel. Only the analog connections(RCA Jacks)work. I called Sharp and they tell me that the Sharp HT-DD5000 was made only to work with DVDs, not Satellite systems, I dont understand this, could someone please help with some advice or expertise, any help would be appreiciated.
