I am remodeling our master bedroom. New everything paint, carpet, furniture, tv, speakers, avr, etc. I have a rx-v1900 in the main room. I am looking for another yamaha avr for the bedroom. Will have a dish hd box, a ps3, at least a 50 inch plasma, polk audio monitor 60, 40, and cs2, ct-150 velodyne sub. Budget will be around 700.00 or less. This will be my wifes set up and will be used mostly for HT. She needs something to compete with my room...LOL

Looking for suggestions

Thanks, I was looking at that and a couple of others just need to figure out which one to go with now.

Out of the following 3 which will be my best bet for HT

rx-v1065

rx-v863

rx-v765

My vote goes for the 863. Its got the "older" Yamaha build quality. JMHO. From a big Yamaha fan.

The 765 uses discrete amp circuits, unlike the lower x65 models, if that matters. I forget whether the 1065 has a better power transformer than the 765. You can compare cabinet sizes and weights, and power consumption specs and take a guess.

The 863 should have more analog inputs, and S/PDIF inputs. They ripped most of that stuff out of the x65 line, probably for economic reasons.

The 1900, if you can find it for a good price, would be nice too.

I have the 1900 in my main room. Think it would be more then I need in the bedroom. I am leaning towards the 863 right now. Unless I can find really good deal on a 3900 for the main room and the 1900 will find its way to the bedroom.
