I just spent the past hour searching for a possible solution... Normally I'm able to find answers pretty easily on the web. The fact that I wasn't able to almost leads me to think nobody else has this issue. Hopefully that's not the case because this is driving me crazy.

Anyway, when I go into the settings in WMC and click on the storage... it only shows I can record like 7 hours (2 HD) worth of programming. Mind you, I have it linked to my 500gb HD (with roughly 400gbs free) and I've maxed out the tv limit. On the slider graph below it shows 'other content' as being the culprit. For the life of me, I have no clue what they're referring to. I literally have no TV content recorded so, with that 9GB buffer and the close to 400gbs worth of 'other content'... I pretty much have no room to record.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is???

Just throwing a guess out here.

Is your external drive FAT32 formatted? If so you might be seeing some incorrect limit based on a calculation imposed by the max 4GB filesize limit of that filesystem.
