Hello everyone. I have a pioneer VSX-523-K it shuts off with in 5 seconds of pressing the power button. The diagnostics of it says overload is the problem. I have no speakers hooked to the system so there cant be an overload. So i was wondering does anyone know where the overload sensor is and what causes it to go off so i can kix the problem.

Double check to make sure there are no fine, almost invisible, wire strands running between any of the speaker binding posts. Make sure it's unplugged from the wall, and run a thin non-conductive probe of some kind (like a pen cap) between all of the binding posts.

The same symptom can be caused by a failure in one (or more) of its internal amplifiers. If you can't find any shorts as mentioned above, the receiver needs to be repaired or replaced.

Sorry.
