I can tell you I have the older 48" of this TV and it is a very nice set. I saw the deal on Amazon as well the other day and would have jumped at it for that price. I paid 1800 just over 14 months ago. Im not sure on the longevity of it yet though since just the other day I got a problem that seems to have followed this set around on the older version of it. It powered itself on and off a few times and then it was fine. Hasnt done it again in another week and a half so Im hoping its just an odity with this TV. But since yours would be the newer model I dont know that I would worry about it. For 1000 you cant get a better HDTV for the price.

Need INFO JVC AV 48WP74?
Amazon.com is running a real GOOD Special on these until the 20th - you can get foor about $1000 with a $100 Rebate. Sure looks GOOD - BUT - I have searched "hell's half acre" for some "real" customer reviews of this TV. I have found reviews of their 48" model above this one - and found many Excellent reviews and some real SCARY ones too - about it going "gunney bag" within 1 year. It does come with a 1 year Warranty. When you look at the Specs - it looks GREAT!
Does anyone here know more about the QUALITY of this model and could advise me whether I should make the HDTV splurge on this unit???
