Need new E* Sat dishes? Which ones? I have a 2 dish system

404 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Matt_Stevens
Got into a huge fight with my landlord today. They refused to allow me on the roof to take down my dishes (am moving into my new home next weekend). This depsite their long standing promise I could take them down when I leave (they are mine, ya know!).

Anyway, rather than deal with these lunatics, I have decided to buy new dishes.

What two dishes & LNBF's should I purchase? Looking at dishdepot.com, it is somewhat confusing as to what I need to buy.

I have a DISH 6000 receiver and am buying a lower end 201 and want to purchase the Dish PRO type dishes and LNBF's

I'll be adding the DishPRO 34 switch at the new home. I know about the adaptor needed for the 6000 to use the newer Pro system.

I am located in CT and have High Def.

I have always done my buying via Dishdepot.com.

Thanks

I can't answer your question specifically, but I remember seeing something about Echostar's "Dish Mover" program, where they send you a replacement dish for free or at a greatly reduced price when you've and retain your service..
Dish Mover is NOT an option.

What's a Dish 201? A 301 is their current "low end" system. I assume this is what you mean. As to which dishes to buy, you'll probably need the "Dishes: DISH500 with DISHPro Twin LNBF" and a "Dishes: 18in. Dish with DISHPro Single LNBF " along with the DP34 switch. You can always call them and they'll verify that this is what you need. And you do (already) realize you'll need the legacy-to-pro adapter for your 6000. Good luck!
I mean 301. I finally got through to them and know what I need, but yesterday the local police called me back and said they would come over when I want to take the dishes down, because they are my property and the landlord cannot stop me from retrieving them. So groovy on the local PD! Apparently this is a common thing in my area, so the PD have decided to send officers out to prevent any violence from occurring.

How come Dish Mover didn't work for you? I'm not very familiar with it.

Why? The whole point of the Dish Mover program that you leave your dishes where they are (so the future home/apartment owner can use it), and Dish provides you completely new dish equipment and a free installation.

See the Dish Mover page on their site right here .
My landlord required I take the dishes down. DISH-MOVER leaves them (plus they require a Top 150 year subscription! I watch near zero SD channels).

Therefore, Dish Mover was not an option. I had to pay to get them down (and they took them down in the pouring rain, God bless them) and I will put them up myself next week.
