Need Recommendation For Video Card

Yes, another one of these threads but this is different so please respond!

I need hardware video acceleration in an AGP card that works on XP. I've tried the HD2400, for a week of maddening re-images and all I can say is *junk*. Nvidia 8500/8600 looks attractive but no VC1 acceleration so my P4 would lagg.


Is there a *working* card out there for the HTPC enthusiast? I'll happily trade the HD2400 up to higher end hardware which is actually supported by drivers and functions as described. But I don't game on this one so I don't want to trade up to something that is just better gaming performance. I want working hardware for DXVA and I'm willing to pay.
