Ok, thanks to the wonderful help of this forum, I have just about decided upon getting an AE700. Just wanted to know if anyone has any screen suggestions for this PJ for under $500.

Here's my set up situation. The room will always have some light during the daytime. Near complete dark at night. Seating will be 15-18' from the screen (depending on which seat you're in). PJ can be mounted anywhere from 10'-20' from the screen. My ceiling is white (5' higher than the top of the scren) and all my walls are medium tan.

If you guys have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Thanks, I had already seen that thread. Good info there, but that guy is not looking for the same thing I am. I need one for under $500 and I think my viewing situation is different from his.

I'm using a Da-Lite model B with CSR High Contrast with my AE700 and the picture, especially hi-def, looks fantastic.

I regularly use it with lights on while gaming or when our 9 month old is in the room with no problem. Sure it doesn't have that 'pop' as when the lights are completely off, but it's perfectly usable with dimmers at 80-90% on. I did replace the lights directly in front of the screen with 45 watt bulbs, while the rest of the in-ceiling lights have 60 watt bulbs.

I have a low ceiling and white walls with lots of full sized movie posters. The projector is ceiling mounted 17 ft back. Seating is at 16', I'm projecting a 92" image. I chose the smaller screen size so I could watch with lights on at a reasonable level for the reasons stated above.

Hope this helps!
