Local ad for a Def Tech sub lists it as a 700W sub, these dimensions 10 1/2 H x 9 3/4 W x 15 1/5 D. Asked her for the model number off the back, but she says there isn't one. I also asked her to send a better picture of the back - when I get it I'll post it.

I looked on def techs site, and checked owners manuals, and couldn't find a 700W sub.

Any ideas?

It could be one of their older Powerfield-series subs, which came in a variety of sizes (10", 12", 15" and 18"). That looks like one of the smaller subs - maybe the 8"? - so it's unlikely that the amp actually pushes 700 watts RMS.

-- Edit --

FWIW, although the cabinet measurements are a bit off, the back panel looks very much like the panel on the ProSub 60 (PDF) , which has a 150W RMS amp and an 8" driver.

looks identical to my current Def Tech ProSub100 which is discontinued(purchased in 04) my sub also has no info or model number on the back. Not home to measure dimensions though, so I guess it could be any size

Here is the larger picture she just sent me. It does say 700 Watts down on the lower left right above the power cord. I'm looking for a second sub to add to my Mythos set up (1's in front, 4's rear/Center, and M&K MX-250 sub). Its probably worth the 100 bucks she's asking, but not sure its going to keep me "happy".....

ps. Looking at the dimensions given, its got to a an 8" driver in there (based on the 9 3/4" dimension...)

I know this is super-old, but I came across this in my search tonight and I thought I would let everyone know that it's a Pro Sub 80, as I have one and had a need to identify it tonight. I ended up digging out the receipt from 2002 :)

Who knows? Could help someone down the road...

Yes, indeed. Just helped me out over 1 year after this post! Thank you for following up!

-- EDIT --

I believe the series is actually ProSub 800 and ProSub 1000, per DI's legacy document section found here.

I purchased two in 2001. Just blew the dust off them a few days ago while "discovering" some things in storage!
