Need some Home Theater Speaker advice for a low to mid grade setup.

In my living room I'm currently using some Energy RC-Micro 5.1 speakers, Polk PSW10 sub and Yamaha RX-V483BL receiver. Basement was just finished and now I need speakers down there. I just watched Tomorrow Way with just two of the RC-Micros with no sub and it wasn't bad. Obviously I want more than that but the point of all that is to show you I'm not an audio aficionado.

So I have a very shallow false wall and I can fit some bookshelf speakers into it that are up to 12" deep. LCR will be behind a 140" 16:9 spandex screen. Same PSW10 sub will be moved to the theater room. RX too until I catch a sale on a newer one.

I'm thinking $600 for the front stage speaker and I'll use some micro satellites or inwalls for rear surround.

Pics attached of my room and temp screen as well as what we're watching at this very moment.

Any advice?

The best thing I can suggest right now is three of these: CBM-170 SE High Performance Bookshelf Loudspeaker

Rear port though right?
Crossed over at 80Hz, the rear port won't be an issue. Distance from the wall would only need to be the port width anyway.

Emotiva B1+ for $250/pr with C1+ center for $250 is about the best front stage you can get at that price level since the Infinity Reference speakers are no longer on sale.

However, the B1+ is currently out of stock ... if you don't want to wait (I'd guesstimate end of July or August for restocking due to pandemic shipping delays) you could simply get a pair of ELAC B6.2 from Amazon for the same price, and easy returns.

The ELACs are front ported and produce tons of mid-bass which will come in handy since that PSW10 is not exactly a powerhouse sub, to put it politely.

The C1+ is a sealed cabinet so no worries about your 12" depth max (though I tend to agree with the others that when used with an 80Hz crossover that's not much of an issue). It's a true 3 way design with excellent voice clarity, which I'd readily recommend over the "matching" ELAC center which is a simple 2 way design and has gotten mixed reviews.

If you are a stickler for VISUAL uniformity up front, when the B1+ comes back in stock you could always pick up a pair and move the ELACs to surround duty.

@Zorba922 - The OP's using an AT screen, so that's why I suggested the CBM-170s for LCR.
Everyone else - the budget is $200/speaker, so I would keep that in mind...
Of course, we have all forgotten about the NHT SuperOne 2.1 - a 6.5" sealed bookshelf for $145/each on Amazon...

I'd just attach these indoor/outdoor speakers to the wall with the center one horizontal aimed up and the left/right mounted at ear level when seated.

The offset tweeter allows for horizontal or vertical placement.

You'll have one left over which is fine as two pairs come in at only $400 with free returns if not happy.
