Need speaker wire to RCA connector??

321 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  hoggy
I want to connect this old record/cassette player onto my reciever but it only has audio out in speaker wire connection. Is there a connector or adapter that I can use to make the speaker wire connect into an rca plug? I don't want to solder. I want to keep it clean. I can't seem to find it on any site or maybe I don't understand because product descriptions don't mention speaker wire. If you guys can link me to one on monoprice, that'll be great because I'm going to order something from them already. If not, please, include a link from a reputable seller. Thanks.

if you have an all-in-one system with speaker out, that would be amplified, and connecting that to the line-level input on your stereo would probably fry your stereo input.

You can often run a speaker level output into a voltage divider; 1K and 100 Ohms might be good resistor values.

Such devices are commercially available for use in car audio to mate head units that lack line level outputs to separate power amplifiers.
Being a car stereo guy, I use something like this quite frequently. You are going to need a "line out converter". There are other names for this, basically it takes speaker level and drops it to rca level. Should be able to find one at anyplace that sells car audio gear.
