I have Energy C3 as my mains and Energy CC1 as center.

(receiver - yamaha 5760 )


I want to add 2 rear surrounds (budget $200 ish)


a) should the surrounds timbre match the fronts/center?


b) if yes, should i go with energy C series or are there any other speaker

options?

can i match it with energy take 2.2 speakers or monitor surround speakers..

Matching the surrounds isn't nearly as important as the L/C/R for movies. If you're going to listen to DVD-Audio or SACD you may want them to be more closely matched.

Out of curiosity,

how does one find out if a particular speaker timbre matches other speakers?

Generally, you check with the manufacturer.


In essence, you will find it hard to match speakers accross brands and and often times speaker lines within the same brand.

after 2 months of waiting/re-searching...i have narrowed down my choices

to the following


a) energy c1 (monopole)

b) energy cr-1 (bipole)

c) energy cr-3 (bipole/dipole)


Now, I am not sure which one of these will fit my room setup.


My (small) room size is 15x10. The TV is at 3 feet from the frontwall and

the sofa is at the backwall. I can move the sofa 2 or 3 feets from the

backwall. I have around 2 feet to the right/left of my sofa to position

the surrounds.


For such a room setup, which surround speaker should I go with?


I have a feeling that energy cr-3 might be a little bigger(costlier)

for the space I have. But would like your opinions.


pls advice.
