I want to minimize the sound transfer from a basement HT I'm planning to have built to the rooms directly above on the 1st floor. For the ceiling of the HT, I plan to go with double 5/8" drywall hung on RSIC clips and hat channel, if my builder can get a hold of those sound clips, and then filling the voids between the TGI joists with fiberglass insulation. I was wondering as I'm going to the trouble of decoupling the ceiling from the floor joists, shouldn't I also be paying attention to how the side wall framing ( and drywall ) is connected to the joists above and the microlam beams ?


Tips, suggestions ?
