Hoping someone can shed some light on this annoyance.
On a Win XP system.
I've a X-Fi card (Fatality) running spdif optical (via adapter) to an H/K receiver.
AC3filter is set to spdif passthrough AC3/DTS.
Have the little "Use Digital IO" checked on the Play Control/Advanced screen.
Problem is each time I boot into Windows I get no sound unless I uncheck & recheck the "use digital IO" box", I guess to reinitialize the system to use the spdif out. Then everything works just dandy- DD, DTS, etc.
Tried looking around for info to no avail. Thanks.
