Need your expertise on floor standing speakers please

Both are good speakers and you'd be getting good sound quality with both, but the Chrono series is a step or two above. If you can budget in the Chrono SL (comes with free 505.2 center), it would be worth the money.

With that free center the Chrono looks very very good.

For a larger space the well regarded Cantons would likely be the more solid choice due to large center channel choice but unfortunately you'd have to take our word for it and if YOU didn't like them, unless you were willing to drive to Orlando to return them, you'd have to pay the full price of shipping both ways, (not the discounted rate to ship to you), plus a 10 percent restocking fee.

Do I think it would be worth the risk?

Yes.

But can I guarantee you would like them?

No.

Q Acoustics would refund your money but you'd have to ship to them one way to return.

Thanks for all the quick response's! I did forget the most important factor tho…….. WAF fator…… Has to be white. Didn't know there was a AccForLess in Orlando. I guess I could take a drive up if I wanted to see them in person.

Also there is a great deal on the 490.2 GLE that comes with a free center. What's your take on those compared to the Cronos?

Well, the Chronos factory refurbished are the same price as the GLEs.

And they only charge 5% restocking for refurb vs 10% for new.

Any difference between the 507 (which are new) compared with the 517? Not sure I can swing a center right away if im getting the chrono's compared with the GLE's, I should survive tho right? lol. I watch a lot of Z reviews and he says better to use the towers instead of a center channel.... Your thoughts? Again thanks for your input, you've given me a lot to think about.

I'm assuming the 517 is a slightly newer 507 as the specs are identical so no idea what secret sauce makes them different.

Maybe a crossover tweak?

Not sure what you mean about towers vs center channel.

If you can use a third tower as a center that is ideal.

I wont be able to get a center matching speaker because its a bit out of budget. So I would be running my towers as my LCR.

Oh man, a third identical vertically oriented speaker is far better than a "compromised" horizontal center that most of use.

Horizontal centers are OK, for sure, but if a matching vertical bookshelf or tower will fit in a given situation it is always the better choices.

3 identical speakers is the ideal and a third tower I see now is actually cheaper than the "matching" Chrono center.

3 towers would be insane lol
