The Sony HD channel has been running the very rare John Belushi/Dan Aykroyd comedy "Neighbors" this month. The movie was an infamous poorly received comedy flop in '81 that turned out to be Belushi's last feature film before he died. For whatever reasons, it has never been released on home video except vhs and laserdisc in full frame.

Regardless, the film shown on SHD looked very good in 16:9, dramatically better than the old LD. The problem sadly is, the soundtrack, notably the voice track sounds like it was recorded in an auditorium with a really strange slapback echo/reverb not present on the original theatrical/home video releases that has to be some sort of mastering issue. Hopefully this might be a precurser to a dvd/blu-ray release and the problem will be fixed for home video.
