I was looking at the Dell site for various plasma displays and I saw this:
NetTV 42" Plasma . The resolution looks good: 1280 x 1024 but I have never heard of this brand. Does anyone have more information about this display or company? Otherwise I was going to buy a Panasonic TH-42PHD5U.

Thanks, Willy

What a rip off. I would buy this plasma just to sue Dell for false advertising.

There are no 42" plasmas with that resolution.

Here's the real specifications (852x480). THERE'S SUPPORT FOR UP TO 1280x1024 (that means it downscales them to native res).

With a rating of 600:1 contrast ratio, it looks very similar to one of the older generation Fujitsu plasmas (4208).

They also have an ALiS based model (1024x512):

I was wondering what was the price you paid for shipping (if any), tax (if any). I just bought the Panasonic 42 non HD model.

Got a good deal but after reading more here, I am worried about DVI-HDCP issues now as well as closed captioning. My wife requires closed captioning but I'm not sure this set can do it. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

If you look close, it's a Sampo, with a photoshop added badge. That added front input doesn't look right either. How tacky is that? What's up with Dell???
