Yes you can do that. All you have to do is share the directory in which the file are stored.

Network 2 computers with MCE?
I have a question for all the MCE users out there. I have an MCE2005 machine in my family room that I use daily for all the TV, DVD and MUSIC functions (I LOVE IT!).
I have another HDTV in my bedroom and was wondering if I hooked another MCE2005 computer up there, whether I could somehow network the two so that I can access the recorded shows in my family room, thorugh the MCE2005 machine in the bedroom?
Even though I have a wireless network, I plan on running CAT5 (ethernet) cables.

Yes you can do that but read some more about MCE extenders, I've read here in some of the post that you can not share DVD files for some reason.
Hopefully someone else can confirm that.
