Is there a Network Media Player which can scrape for content information from sites like IMDB and theTVdb? That way content information, summaries and reviews are available.

Uh, I would recommend...ALL of them. Sorry, haven't been snarky in a while.

Seriously, take a look around my friend...and you'll find many, many boxes capable of this.

The Popcorn Hour NMT's will do it w/a 3rd party add-on, like YAMJ and others. I think the new Popbox and Boxee Box will do it w/o any 3rd party app being necessary, so they might be easier, but I'm not sure about that, as they're not on the market yet.
