I thought 3D was nice and bright with the Epson 6030 and the StudiTek 130.
For reference I was at max throw and the screen I was using is fairly large-10'5 diagonal.
The room was very dark.
I might be in the minority but I do not like high gain screens.
The image always looks overblown, with noticeable hot spots & color shifts and is grainy as you can easily see the coating.
You also loose resolution and have a very narrow viewing angle.
If all you were going to watch was 3D maybe this is the right screen.
But for 2D IMHO is awful.
Yes many. I just can't get past all the issues I see.Quote:

Have you viewed a High Power? It does not hot spot.

Just to make sure I am not misunderstanding you, when you say for 2D it is awful, you are referring to the Dalite HP not the Studiotek G3 right?

You are correct.
I don't know how quickly you have to move on the Stewart but get a sample of the HP screen you were thinking of and see what you think.
You may like it.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before my nemesis Seggs showed up.
Welcome!
Anyway...
You will love it.
IMHO It is and has been one of the best all-around surfaces since I saw it's introduction some 20 years ago with Joe Kane.
The G3 certainly made a great screen even better.
Seegs
Yes I'm in the industry.
I go way back-before home theater and home automation was an even an industry.
My 1st foray was using ADS car audio speakers as in-wall speakers as nothing existed.
Also installed one of the 1st Frox Multimedia systems-probably going to hell for this.
Involved in lots of other note worth product launches and industry firsts.
I have never liked and would never recommend a high gain screen.
I certainly understand the appeal of free brightness but everything has a trade-off.
For me these trade-offs ruin the viewing experience.
As I like to say your system looks good from my house![]()

Does this help?
http://www.epson.com/alf_upload/landing/distance-calculator/
Won't load as I'm on my iPad-no Flash
I think u is for universal a mount and the other has a custom mounting plate for the specific projector.Quote:

Thanks translux....I must be dense because I need to spend more time to figure that calculator out. I don have another question. For ceiling mounting, what is the difference between RPAU and RA Elite mounts from Chief?
