$199 @ Buy.com - $50 RTV Rebate - $10 coupon - $20 Buy.com 24 hour Sale Rebate = $119

Note - both the RTV and Buy.com rebates require original UPC. Buy.com CSR instructs to instead send a UPC copy and the title page to the manual to get the $20 rebate w/o original UPC.

If also got a Buy.com $10 coupon via e-mail today that I was also able to apply, although it says you cannot combine coupon. If you have one, you can get it for $109.

I do not work for them, and this certainly is not an ad, just passing along some useful info...

Can't post links on AVS yet - here are the URL's

I was going to buy one for my Dad for his birthday, so I think I may pick this up a little early now. One thing though - I can't get to Buy.com. Is anyone else having the same problem? Trying to figure out if the site is down or if I just can't see it.

Not sure about your math. The price is 148.99 after the DNNA rebate and then the sale states "up to $30" off in addition. If you read the fine print you get $10 off for purchases of less than $150.00, $20 off for purchases of $151 - $250 and $30 off for anything over $250.

His math is right. $198.99 - $20 buy.com rebate - $50 DNNA rebate - $10 coupon = $118.99 + tax. The DNNA rebate doesn't come off the purchase price, so the up to $30 off coupon still yields a $20 savings. After all the rebates and coupons are factored in, it's $118.99

Nope, no problem getting through as of around 12:00PM central time. I ordered two 5040's in separate orders and will get each after rebate for $118.99. Can't miss it at that price! BTW, if you order more than one and would like to get a $10 off $150 for the second order, use this link here , after using the one Rmkernan suggests (for the first order). Thanks Rmkernan!

You are correct. If you didn't receive a coupon via email, though, just use the link found in post #4 of this thread by mrnospin. That should work for you.

Actaully, the $10 coupon I listed can be used by anyone, probably one per customer though. If you can happen to "find" another or got one via e-mail, you can apply that to the same purchase if you are buying 1 or to another 5040 if you are buying 2.

So anyone can get it for $120, but if you are lucky and can find another coupon, you can get it for $110. I tried it and it worked. I would post the coupon, but this type is user specific. If you have time search for one.

Just something to look out for, the CNET rebate and Replay rebates both

ask for ORIGINAL UPC. I know in the past with multiple rebates, the

secondary rebate (in this case CNET) usually will accept copies also, but

what is written on the rebate forms is ORIGINAL UPC.

I just ordered one. This is getting ridiculous. This will be my 5th Replay (1-3060, 2-HS2000, and soon 2-5040). I don't have places to put them all.

The only justification is that I'm doing contract work these days, with almost 100% travel involved. I can always take one on the road with me, and maybe even try to figure out how I can use IVS to get shows sent from home.

Or, I could treat this one as an investment. Once the 5000 series are all gone, and people reject the 5500s, I could get my money back on eBay. I think a 5040 with lifetime activation will hold its value. Especially if it's hacked to 160 hours.

Oh well, in a few months I won't miss the money anymore, and I'll still have another toy.

When everyone sends in their rebates for this, are you going to put the photocopy in the Cnet rebate? Just wanted to see what everyone else was going to do before I start sending things in.

Thanks!
