I got my new 5504 from ecost.com last night. I set it up and everything was going fine until the point where the unit was downloading the new channel guide info. I let it run for a couple of hours and ended up just turning the TV off when it was still running when I finally went to sleep. I have it setup to work via the phone line. This morning it said it had a socket error so I restarted it. It seemed to be going a little fast this morning but my wife called to tell me when I got to work that it got to 97% and then timed out. Any ideas what could be causing that? Need to try a new phone line or what?

I will try lowering the modem speed and see if that helps. I havent actually gotten into the setup far enough at the point Im hanging on to change modem speeds though...Im hanging in the initial setup of the device. If its failed again when I get home today I will power it off and on and see if I can skip the program schedule update so that I can configure the modem speed...
