New and Improved! Less parallel than ever.

This is basically an update from this thread where I proposed a room with angled walls. I've taken some of the suggestions in that thread to come up with a fully parallel room. I haven't been able to embrace the support poles completely (as encouraged by Krasmuzik) but now they are enclosed in 16"x16" columns with matching columns on the right. Taking Krasmuzik's idea, the left wall is entirely bumped out and the central beam is housed in a soffit with matching right soffit. The rear half of the room with higher ceiling has a tray ceiling effect. The spotlights shown are not necessarily what will be used (likely to use rope lighting) but was the best way to show that the tray exists. T

he main features of the new layout have matching L/R soffits to deal with the center support beam, (4) symmetrically placed 16"x16" 'freestanding' columns which enclose the support poles on the left. These will also house side speakers. The equipment rack is moved to the back corner to give it a less obtrusive location and make better use of space outside the theater.

Let me know what you think.
