Hello,

Newbie to the AVS forum here. Please forgive me if this question has been asked before. I have been unable to get a straight answer from Dish customer service.

I've been trying to determine for certain whether I need another antenna to receive Dish's HD programming when I install my new HDTV monitor (and Dish 811 receiver, when I can get my hands on one). My current system consists of a DishPro 301 receiver and Dish 500 dual-LNB. The antenna is currently locked on 119 West. When I go into the setup menu and check the signal for 110 West, I get a 125 percent signal (stronger than 119, which hovers

between 110 and 115 percent).

I will only need one receiver for my eventual HD setup. So does this mean I can get all the HD programming with my current antenna? Thanks for any answers.

As far as Sat. you only need to see 119 and 110 (all HD is on 110). If you want to get your local OTA HD stations you will need either a UHF or VHF/UHF combo antenna, depending on which channels your local stations are using.
