I will be moving to a new apartment soon... and have a question regarding which wall to set up my 5.1 speaker system on. The speakers themselves are Athenas, with a 10" Dayton subwoofer.
The living room will be ~12'x18', carpeted, with the system being set up on one of the long walls. However, one of the walls is exposed brick, while the wall facing it is typical drywall.
Any recommendations on whether the left-center-right channels should be in front of the brick wall, or the drywall? May not be a big difference, but throwing it out there. Does sound reflect better/worse off brick, and affect the quality? Neither of the walls border a neighbor, so I don't need to worry about sound transmission through them. Your $0.02 would be appreciated, thanks!
