Hey guys. I just got a used pioneer vsx 80 TXV and hooked it up to my polk r50's. My reasoning was that I don't need any features of the newer AVR's, but I wanted strong wattage, and high fidelity. Wow, the sound is absolutely amzing compared to my old HTIB, thanks for the help!
When I feed the AVR mp3's from my HTPC over optical at loud volumes, but not loud enough to cause distortion, the speaker volume seems to go up and down. At first I thought this might be a previously undetectable artifact brought out by the increase in quality on certain songs, but as I listen to more I'm starting to become worried.
Could this be caused by old / inadequate speaker wiring (prolly 18-20 guage but don't quote me)?
Is it possibly some feature of the receiver I've not yet figured out?
Should I stop playing music until this problem is resolved?
Considering it is used, and I have about 10 days to return it, what do you think I should do?
Thanks again,
Wiggy
