New Build for Daughter - These Parts Match OK?

My daughter and I want to build a new PC together for her homework/media room. I have built several full size ATX HTPC's throughout the house, but the we're looking to do a pretty basic build with a girly type of case and using some spare parts. Any feedback on components would be appreciated. Won't be required to do too much. Media Browser, Chromecast and basic office tasks.

Because it's not pink!
We did find some white cubes, but were quite a bit more and she liked the idea of painting a case whatever shade of pink she wanted. If we go mini-ITX, any experience with this board?

I don't, but it looks to get great reviews.


If you went mini-ITX and got a case that didn't have a power-supply, I've used many of these and they are great because they have a power-supply on-board so you just need an AC Adapter (19V 7.4mm x 5.0mm tip)

Not great if building is going to be a learning experience as well since you don't get to wire a power supply up but very efficient and quiet not having any PSU fans, etc.

As a father of a girl, I strongly believe that pink is not just for girls. My daughter happens to like purple, which, as she explains is a mix of blue and pink

I had thought she had changed favorite colors from pink to green, but apparently anything other than pink won't match her room accessories.. What do I know?
