It's been a long time since I've updated the Panasonic FAQ, but I've not been idle. I created what I believe to be the exhaustive set of IR codes which will control the TH-42PW4. They might not be exhaustive for other models, but they should still work.
This CCF has every code from the original remote, hand-tuned for accuracy. It contains previously discovered discrete codes for Power (On and Off) and two of the inputs (PC and Video/AV). It also contains true discrete codes (not just a macro) for the remaining input (Component) and for aspect ratios (Auto, Normal, Zoom, Full, and Just).
I just sent the CCF to Remote Central, and I haven't yet linked to it from the FAQ, so in the mean time you can get it here .
Make sure you read the README, since the discrete codes have a few quirks (not in the IR codes themselves, but in the way the display responds to them). In particular, the power-off discrete can confuse the display until you turn it off with the off switch.
Enjoy!
