Hey guys. I was referred to this forum by some of the guys over at operationsports.com.

I am currently awaiting my home to be built and have some questions I hope you guys can answer and provide suggestions.

EDIT: The home is close to being wired. As my family room is an open floor plan, I do not have the wall space for a 7.2 system and the system is being wired as 5.1.

Speakers - Speakercraft AIM7 MT Three - I chose these as it was suggested to do the Two's, but I liked the construction of the Three's - this option I cannot change.

Receiver: - As I frequently check crutchfield.com, I came across the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A1020, which is on sale for $699.99. I know it's a 7.2-channel, but I really like this receiver for the price. Any suggestions?

Subwoofer - Until this morning, I was deciding between the following two subwoofers:

Definitive Technology ProSub1000
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_735PSUB...00.html?tp=187

Klipsch SW-112

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_714SW11...12.html?tp=187

However, some of the guys at OS suggested these subs:

SVS PB-1000

SVS PB-2000

http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/ported-box/pb-2000#.Uyj1A9y4nFI

I'm open to any and all suggestions, including cutting some price from a receiver to get a better sub and vice versa. My TOTAL BUDGET for a receiver and subwoofer would be around $1,200.

Thanks guys!

Just bumping this to get some attention. I'm in a time crunch ha!

EDIT: forgot to mention the room is 20x13; it has walls on three sides and is an open floor plan into the breakfast area and kitchen.

Thanks in advance

There is a lack of objective reviews relating to your exact choices.

The three most likely sources of objective reviews of subwoofers are IME:

Data-bass http://www.data-bass.com/systems

Sound and Vision http://www.soundandvision.com/category/subwoofer-reviews http://www.soundandvision.com/content/review-800-subwoofers

Audioholics http://www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/subwoofer-measurement-data

I think the ball is in your court!

My own preference from your list would be the SVS, but you need to consider Rhythmic as well.

Do you have any models that you prefer from Rhythimic?

Any other suggestions I'm open to guys - thanks!

My suggestion would be buy 1 SVS PB2000 now. Then when you have the extra money buy a 2nd PB2000. You have an open floor plan so your sub will see the ENTIRE volume of all that space so its a lot of cubic footage to fill. You definitely want a ported sub and will probably need 2 to get good bass in your room.
