I have seen The Rock (Criterion) at Circuit City many times, but now it looks like they are going a bit more mainstream by being stocked at Best Buy (thank God!). I wonder about the quality of this DVD...

Only DD 5.1? Why didn't they go for the dts track like in the Rock?

And if Traffic is anything like The ROCK: CC, then it will be smoothered with EE. Criterion does make a good DVD though. And for $20, it might be worth picking up.

my BB stocks a couple criterions in addition to THE ROCK.

i usually see THE RULING CLASS, IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, and PYGMALION.

in addition i picked up their only copy of 8 1/2 last week.

i have no clue why these are the only criterions they keep in stock on the shelves.

they seem kind of odd choices to me (why no BLOB, FIEND WITHOUT A FACE, or any of the other titles that would have a greater chance of appealing to J6P?).

oh well.


i didn't realize THE ROCK had bad EE. the disc looked great on my set-up. (un)fortunately i just sold it, so i can't check.
