Hey guys/girls,

I'm buying a new digital camcorder for $300-$500 and I was wondering what I should get. It will be used for recording athletic events (football, soccer) and possibly recording fireworks.

I would like to go HD but if that is not possible I understand (pricewise).

All opinions are appreciated.

Thanks,

HT

I was looking at the Canon Vixia line. I own a Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR camera so I figured I would be well versed on the software. I also read some reviews saying that this line is quality. I was looking at the Canon Vixia HF200. I know this is going for abour $600 so it is a little out of my price range but I just wanted to know if I was looking in the right spot. Is this a good line of camcorders? What are the differences in the models in this line?

Okay, thanks for the response. So, just for clarification purposes, could you rank these three camcorders for me?

- Sanyo FH1

- Canon Vixia HF100

- Canon Vixia HF200

Is there anything else I should consider before I make my purchase (camcorder wise)? I'm not really worried about accessories right now...

What about the Canon Vixia HF10 or the Canon Vixia HF20?
