Reading the comments about this, I'm amazed at how many folks seem to totally lack a sense of humor.
wow!, What would happen if you put some clay on the machine? Could you recreate the scene from Ghost?

Or maybe let is spin while you "write" the name of the video on the top :)
I actually have someone for whom this would be a perfect gift.

You know, the person who does not need anything technical because they can never get it to work.

It would be a cruel mean joke, but then they would not call me to help them figure out how to use it long distance either.

THen again, maybe they would
I see it's about $16.99. I wonder if we could get a group buy. It would make a great a christmas gift .

Jon
I must admit, it took me a moment. I doubt that I would spend money on one (even as a joke), But I will forward this page....

Actually, I thought quite a few of the posters had a pretty good sense of humor, like:

Q: Does this rewind CD's too?

A: Only with the special add-on pack.

The sad part is, there WILL be people stupid enough to pay $16.99 + tax + S&H for it.
Actually, rewinding DVDs properly will preserve the digital quality, and CDs that have been rewound will definitely sound better as well. And any bone-head knows it will rewind CDs without any add-on packs (duh!).

You forgot to mention how this device will also save wear-and-tear on our player and recorder rewind mechanism!
Funny! I'd buy one if it were cheaper, less than $8. But $17+? Too much!
I think maybe they should add a "high speed disk eraser" for non rewritable disks ;)

Yes, they have two versions: one that stops at each layer and must be started again for 2nd layer, and one that switches layers without stopping. I think they cost twice as much, tho'.
I considered one, but i found out it wasn't compatible with 8cm (3in) mini discs.

The crazy thing is, you can fit an adpter for your old 45-rpm vinyl, I will be marketing such a device - along with replacement power cord (helps with CAV recordings). :-
As far as movies that people burn onto blank DVD's are concerned, is this unit a +R or -R rewinder?

Also, I am sure that it will work with HD DVD's when they become more mainstream (as they are the same physical size as a standard DVD), but will it also rewind Blu-ray? They are different size discs.

(I couldn't resist)
I wouldn't call this new. I saw this years ago. It's a gag gift.

REALLY?...A GAG?...UNFORTUNATELY, YOURS IS THE FIRST SERIOUS POST!
Well, yeah, we all know it's a gag. I just meant it's not new. Sort of strange to see it on several sites lately, considering it's several years old now.
