... has more details on the bird. It looks like it was have 24 Ku-band transponders and 24 C-Band transponders. I'm not exactly sure how this affects Galaxy 9 which is in the 127W spot right now.


Nevertheless, more money is being poured into HDTV capabilities which can only mean one thing to us as end-users.


More HDTV! (Hopefully).

I'm sorry, but I'm not very bright in the satellite area.....


From the article on Newsday, does that mean that (for example) they could use the TP's for HD programming, and both D* and E* can get feeds from them?

I believe G13 will carry HD traffic which could be picked up by cable cos, E* or D* for rebroadcast. But the average D* user can't point his dish at G13 and download a useful signal off of one of the TPs.
