I'm looking for a 7.1 HT setup, but I'm limited to buying from Best Buy (long story, don't ask). Anyway, my head is still spinning from everything I've read, but I'm curious if you what I've found below is my best option for my style. The big problem is I can't make it into a store and need to buy stuff sight unseen, so if anyone has suggestions from the Magnolia section (since you can't see this at Best Buy online), please let me know.
Yamaha HTR-6090BL
full complement of Klipsch Synergy 7.1 speakers (2 F3s, 2 S3s, 1 B3, 1C3 and 1 Sub 12)
I'll be mating this to a Panny 42PX50U and a Tivo Series3 box.
I definitely like to feel my viewing experience. Anyone that watches the opening scene from the original Bad Boys when some thugs use a hot chick in an attempt to steal Will Smith's 911, the shootout in Heat or the opening scene in Saying Private Ryan will understand what I mean. My main concern seems to be my speaker selection, because I'm limited to the Klipsch Synergy or the JBL Venue.
I like my low end, but I don't want it to be all muddy. The Klipsch reads like it could be too 'bright' for my tastes. The JBL reads like it could get me better 'punch' but isn't as clean or refined as Klipsch. Am I summarizing this correctly?
