I have been looking into an HTPC for my digital entertainment system. I currently have Comcast Digital cable with the HDTV channels and a DVR. I was wondering if there was anyway I could get rid of the CC DVR and use my HTPC to record all the channels, preferrably getting rid of all the CC equipment if possible. I want this new HTPC to be like a dual-tuner HDTV DVR basically running windows 2005 MCE. If anyone has any reccomendation on the type of TV Tuner cards I should get please respond. Thanks.

no HTPC application supports cable card or unencrypted digital cable

most that record digital cable/satellite either have cable/satellite company DVRs

or you can connect a standard cable/satellite box to an analogue capture card

but then you do not get 1:1 copies, there will be a loss of quality

and the captures are only at 480i
