I've taken the plunge and now have an HTPC running. Problem is it's not fully functional. I initially hoped to have a music server, PVR and HTPC combo running, but after nothing but hassles with the Radeon 850DV TV/PVR functionality I'm hoping to at least salvage the music and DVD capabilities.
Here's what I've got.

M-Audio AP 2496
ATI Radeon 8500DV
W2K Server
Here's where I stand. I could not get the sound to play correctly with the ATI DVD player, it was distorted and had a lot of "static" to it, so I scrapped everything and have not loaded MMC. My hope was that I could load WinDVD and use it as my player. Problem there is I get no audio whatsoever. I do get audio for everything else, just not DVD. I know that that Intervideo doesn't support the M-Audio card, but others on the board have recommended the combination, so it must be possible.
If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it. I've hit every group and forum I can find, and have come up empty.
