I am a newb. I just bought a new i1 display pro with the manufacture date of 11/2010 on the box and was wondering if I should send it back and get a more recent one. I've read that the filters do not age well in these devices so should I be concerned?

Check the actual meter. I think its mfg date is on the cable weight if memory serves.
The date on the box is when the box was manufactured from what I understand.
Correct, the date outside of the box shows when the outer box printed.

Here you can see when the meter was manufactured.

X-Rite is not re-certificating i1Display PRO Colorimeters, and they don't provide any certification paper for each meter when you buying a new meter.

So I have to open the box...bummer. Can anyone else confirm this? It kinda threw me for a loop when I saw this on the box. It's hard to imagine it sitting on the shelf for 4 years, but I suppose it's possible. Thank You.
