I currently have a SP7205 with about 2300 hours on the lamp. The replace lamp light is coming on. The picture is still plenty bright, so I think that I still have some time, but I started looking at lamp prices. I would have thought that they would have come down in price more than they have since I bought my projector. Infocus wants $550, and the cheapest I could find anywhere was $450. For that price do you think it would be worth picking up an Optoma HD70 or something for $1,000 and then I would have a 2 year warrantee on the projector again, with a new bulb? From what I can see the HD70 is about the same quality-wise as my 7205.
I could probably make up the difference by eBaying my 7205.
