damn your title scared me.

New Line is the latest major distributor to support Blu-ray Disc exclusively for this year due to the company's concerns about a lack of regional coding on HD DVD for its Blu-ray debut of "Hairspray."
And we have official spec details below for the first hi-def horror titles exclusively on Blu-ray from Anchor Bay Entertainment on Oct. 2 and Oct. 16 (see first blog about this on July 16), including "Halloween," "Dawn of the Dead," Day of the Dead," and "Evil Dead 2."

Is this guy for real! I mean seriously. This is just way over the top. I didn't know that New Line will be exclusive to Blu-Ray.
Talk about FUD and misleading information.
And this is why I'm building this site. To hit HARD on people like Scott Hettrick, Blu-Ray.com etc etc. This is compeltely out of hand.

Read it again, slowly this time. *For this year*. Back to Green Eggs and Ham for you.
Give yourself an uppercut first.

And it is you who did it.
Thanks for making AVS a bit more useless.

No YOU read it slowly. The way he presents it is that it is FOR SURE exclusive this year and who knows what's gonna happen next year.

NOWHERE does he state that Hairspray IS ACTUALLY coming to HD DVD.

He took the information about the delay, spun it in a way where it seems like New Line is Blu-Ray exclusive and might remain that way.
This is NOT OK and is FUD of the WORST KIND.

Omitting such a qualifier is a serious misquote.

Second, let me ask you this.. because YOU KNOW what the information is about it makes sense TO YOU and me.
But put yourself in a position where you DON'T know about the real information and what was said by New Line.
What exactly For This Year means? First of all what does exclusive to Blu-Ray means? He followed with for this year without any explanation. Did he say, they will release other movies on HD DVD? Did he say that Hairspay is coming to HD DVD to within next few months?
If you read this as a regular person who is quoted this information you will conclude that the emphasis here is on EXCLUSIVE not this year. "This year" in his statement is being positioned in a way where it creates UNCERTAINTY of the future when this is CLEARLY certain that NEW LINE is NOT Blu-Ray exclusive and that other movies are coming too.

His statement is 100% correct. You interpreted it as if he had never qualified it with "for this year", conveniently ignored that when you realised your mistake, and went on to complain that he doesn't mention HD-DVD.

I don't see you kicking up a big stink about www.campaignhd.com , which contains many similar "facts by omission" and outrageous porkies favouring HD-DVD. Why not? What if a "regular person" is reading that site and believes those "facts"?
Face it, you're a hypocrite. You only care about the consumers right to know as long as they buy HD-DVD.
