EDIT: Gone away looking for more info on MCTi

EDIT 2: They are claiming that they use vector algorithms to create frames in-between the usual 24.

If this is for real and doesn't introduce loads of artifacts (some of the other mocomp solutions I've seen definitely do introduce unwanted artifacts), then I reckon $27k seems pretty reasonable.

I'd love to see one in action.

You'd think they'd be singing from the treetops though, and I can't find any info on the web at all about MCTi.

I saw this in the Meridian area and it works. This processor removes film Judder and then goes one step further and adds interpolated frames to smooth out motion to better than film..

Repeat ..motion better than film.

The demo was amazing to me as a plasma owner that can't bear to see the judder in panning. I saw a similar demo at LG on LCD and while it got rid of the extreme judder, it seem to add a very odd artificial air or cloud effect, which the Merian did not.

As a Merdian owner -- 861 pre/pro, 800 DVD and 558.2 amplifier -- I have to say this:

1. The Meridian boys ARE smart;

2. The Merdian boys DO know how to charge; and

3. USD 27,000 for a video procesor is NUTS and I for one will NOT be getting one...very happy to be waiting for my LUmagen RadianceXD beta.

Isn't this the same idea as Philips "Trimension" processing, a feature of WinDVD since vserion 6? That was very controversial because some folks felt that it made film look too "video-like." But compared to $27,000, the price is definitely right!
