New Monoprice Stage Right Active PA Speakers

It looks like Monoprice has stopped selling passive PA speakers and is now exclusively offering a new generation of active Stage Right PA speakers. Available in 10", 12" and 15" models (SRD210, SRD212 and SRD215) they all include class D amps, DSP and Bluetooth following the industry trend in PA speakers away from passive models. Pricing really favors the 15" model with much higher amp power rating and larger compression driver yet only $20 more than the smallest 10" model. Will be interesting to see how they perform.

At only $200 and with "up to" 1400W of Class-D power, I can see someone testing the 215s as LCRs as soon as they're available.
Well, the "up to" 1400W is actually "peak" power with 700W "maximum" and 350W RMS. If it actually measures 350W RMS it should go louder than the old passive Stage Right 15" on any AVR. One odd thing is that the SRD215 user's manual mentions "various DSP modes" but doesn't say what those modes are.

They are very nice looking for PA speakers.
Just be aware that the 15" model is HUGE, as in ~2.5 feet tall by ~1.5 feet wide and ~1.5 feet deep.
They might make for some nice patio speakers.
One odd thing is that the SRD215 user's manual mentions "various DSP modes" but doesn't say what those modes are.

The Features sheet says that the five green LEDS indicate which DSP mode is selected. Blowing up the back panel shows that those LEDs are marked as NORMAL, DJ, VOICE, LIVE and PLAY. One of those is likely to properly tickle one's fancy.

The RMS power rating is 200 watts, which is only 3 dB more than a typical AVR. The other power ratings are marketers at work. Aesthetically these are a step up from the workhorse Eurolive B-215XLs, emulating the Apogee line of pro speakers with the nice perf grilles -- might not even have to hide them behind an AT screen.

The main question will be how quiet (hiss-free) these are, and how reliable. Three dB in a domestic AV system is not worth hiss.

@PrimeTime, good points. One correction: According to the user manuals for the three speakers the RMS power rating of 200W is only for the 10". It's 300W for the 12" and 350W for the 15". Specs also show the 10" with a 1" compression driver while the 12" gets a larger 1.35" and the 15" a still larger 1.75". Specs aside it's going to take some hands-on testing to see how these speakers perform in the real world.

Are these speakers made in China, Price seems too good to be USA made.
