I just found the following press release at Projector Central. It doesn't say much about home theater, but most recent NEC business projectors have accommodated our market. 1300:1 contrast--and NEC are known for conservative ratings, compared to some of their competitors. Looks like that 12 degree mirror is here to stay.

Those look pretty good.

I think if I were ever to replace my DILA, it would be with an NEC projector.

The NEC that AVS had set up at the dinner in Vegas last January was truely amazing. Coupled with the Teranex scaler and a basic DVD player, it projected onto a fifteen foot Firehawk. Outstanding picture.

It put the massive TI demo everyone was standing in line for to shame, IMHO.

Good thing my credit card limit is low, 'cause I'd a taken that baby home with me if I could've. :D

Boy I wish NEC would jump into the HT market themselves.

What classifies them as not being in the HT market? I mean, JVC wasn't in the HT market per se a couple years go, but a lot of us bought them and turned them into HT projectors.

The NEC at the AVS dinner looked awful 'HTish' to me :D

For one most of their stuff is FCC Class A not B. For two, they don't advertise their stuff to the home users either.

Their not even trying and the LT150 makes a great image.

From what I read from Nec website:

- Ultra compact projectors (read noise and light spill, short throw)

-No rgbrgb wheel

-No Faroudja ou Silicon Image deinterlacing

- Emphasis on lumens and not on contrast
