It seems to have all the features of the old 9769 but much better in appearence.

The specifications on their site do not indicate that it has got progressive scan capabilities unfortunately.

The chinese site did mention abt the progressive scan component out on the DVD-N828 -- "’€sYPbPr".

I believe that you were reading about the information on the 808 which is a different machine from 828. Unfortunately, the information on 828 is only available in chinese. But it does say that it is a progressive scan player (I think I haven't lost my touch in reading Chinese yet, a little rusty tho).
