Excellent. Anyone else seen this?


They just got one in at J&R and have it side by side with Panny's new 42ED, the old 50+42HD units, and a new 37ED nearby. The LCD was so much brighter, had so much more detail, better colors... even the blacks were pretty good (on-axis, anyway).


Granted, nothing was calibrated or set up ideally, but the plasmas just paled in comparison.

That's good to hear. Did you happen to compare it to Mitsubishi's new LCDS? One thing I've been curious about the 2 new Panasonic LCDs is whether the native resolution is HD, or if it's ED but supports 1080i. The 2 models aren't up yet at Panasonic's site, but I've seen an increase of online sellers that carry them.

The new Panasonics are high resolution models, 1280 x 768 or thereabouts.

Anyone seen the picture quality of DVD playing or basic (non-HD) cable yet?
